Advancing speculative epistemologies through transdisciplinary para-research since 2023. Exploring the liminal spaces between established knowledge systems.
The Boston Institute of Pseudo-Intellectual Systems (BIPS) is an independent research organization dedicated to the exploration, development, and dissemination of para-academic knowledge systems.
Founded in 2023, BIPS operates at the intersection of established academic disciplines and speculative thought. We challenge conventional epistemological boundaries and foster intellectual environments where unconventional ideas can be rigorously examined.
Our institute brings together thinkers, researchers, and practitioners from diverse fields to engage in what we term "para-research" - investigative methodologies that exist parallel to, but not entirely within, traditional academic frameworks.
We operate on the principle that knowledge systems are inherently incomplete and that progress often emerges from the interstitial spaces between established disciplines. Our work embraces productive contradiction, speculative reasoning, and methodological pluralism.

Interested in our work? We welcome inquiries, collaboration proposals, and applications for visiting researcher positions.
BIPS operates as a distributed research collective with physical hubs in Boston and several virtual research spaces. We maintain an open-door policy for serious inquiries about para-intellectual research.
BIPS accepts a limited number of visiting researchers each year. Applications are reviewed quarterly. Please include a research proposal and statement of para-intellectual interest.
We actively seek interdisciplinary collaborations with institutions and individuals working at knowledge boundaries. Our para-research methodology adapts to diverse subject matters.
